The Apprentice series 17 full candidate line-up has been revealed and among them is Megan Hornby from Hull.

The BBC show will return on Thursday night where viewers will see the candidates set off to Antigua for their first task. They will be asked to create and sell excursions to tourists.

Joining Lord Sugar will be his trusted advisors Baroness Karren Brady, Tim Campbell MBE and fan favourite Claude Littner, who returns for two episodes. Megan will be going all out in an attempt to impress Lord Sugar and win a life-changing £250,000 investment in her businesses.

She set up her sweet shop and cafe, formerly known as The Candy Shop, two years ago. Earlier this month, Megan announced that her business would be having a “grand relaunch” after moving to 123 Newland Avenue in Hull in February this year.

The Candy Shop officially changed its name to Club Candy, and reopened as a bar and restaurant on Friday, December 16. It serves candy themed cocktails, a hot food menu with burgers and loaded fries, as well as sweets and desserts.

Speaking about why she will stand out from the other candidates, she says: "I’ve started a business that has a real niche. I’ve found a gap in the market, and I’ve made a success of it so far. I really think that with Lord Sugar’s investment, my business could be nationally recognised.

"My USP is definitely my honesty. I think that no matter what situation I am thrown into, I will always give one hundred per cent truth, even if it’s hard to hear."

Speaking about her biggest weakness, she added: “My biggest weakness is that I can often be overly ambitious. I can take too many things on, and sometimes I need to focus on certain aspects. But it’s just because I’m so passionate about what I do - I just want to take everything on and get involved in as much as I can.”
