beplay官网手机登陆每个主要的提供者包括BT,天空,处女,Plusnet and TalkTalk is raising prices in 9 days' time (see exactly how much yours is raising prices below) but the money saving expert has assured viewers that there is something you can do, especially if you're one of the 7 million broadband customers in the UK not currently locked into a contract period.

Martin told his viewers that on average, broadband prices are set to rise by 14% from April.

He added: "Seven million of you are out of contract. There's no easy check there so you'll have to look at your contract or you'll have to speak to them."

Then Martin set out several key things to check which may help you negotiate a better deal and beat the April hikes.

"50% of people must get the advertised speed, so check your current speed before you do this, on a speed test but don't just check it on your wifi, if you can, plug in one of your devices on what's called an ethernet cable from your router and do a wired test.

"Your wifi may be too low or behind a cupboard wall and you need to move it.

"Comparison sites offer incentives not available direct. That's because firms these days have to tell you, when you're at the end of your contract, what their new customer offers are. But they don't have to tell you what the incentives are if you get them via a comparison site.

"So the price sensitive customers, they try to win them with incentives rather than with cheaper tariffs.

"It's postcode dependent. Current ones include 500Mb speed, that's well over 10x what most people have right now, £26 a month" (when factoring in an Amazon voucher as an incentive).

"There's a 264MB speed for £18-19 a month. Now most people with standard broadband are paying £40 a month and it's about to go up.

"These ones if you get them now that's the price you're gonna pay until April 2024.

"But again, if you wanna stick, HAGGLE."

Martin then added that most of the big firms have what are called 'social tariffs' for people on benefits like Universal Credit, where you pay £12-£20 a month and get 36Mb, mainly aimed at people on Universal Credit.

Martin said that BT, Kcom, Virgin and various providers offer them and as many as 4 million people who could be eligible are potentially missing out on the cut-price tariffs (which are also protected from price hikes in many cases).
