Huddersfield Town will be without new signing David Kasumu for Friday’s trip to Birmingham City and the next several weeks after suffering an injury to his lower hamstring against Burnley last weekend.

The summer arrival from Milton Keynes Dons came on as a substitute in the second half of last Friday evening’s 0-1 defeat to Burnley but was forced back off 17 minutes later after appearing to overstretch while making a challenge.

Head coach Danny Schofield revealed that although Kasumu’s injury is not as bad as had initially been feared, he is still set for a short spell on the sidelines.

He said: “He won’t be available. It’s not as bad as we first thought, so that’s a positive, but he’s going to miss a few weeks.”

“David along with Jack Rudoni and Tino Anjorin, they all made an impact in the game. It was a big loss for the game and a big loss for the next few weeks, but it’s all part of football. We have to move on, support David in his recovery, and other players will get opportunities.”

The Terriers boss also hinted that we may see several new signings in his starting lineup at St Andrew’s, saying: “Potentially. We’ve assessed the training and we’ve assessed the players who can impact Birmingham in terms of what they pose in the way of a threat, so potentially they’ll be involved.”
